Privacy notice

The short version

• We use your photos, words and voice note only to make and deliver your gift.
• We never use them to train AI, never sell them and never show ads.
• Only people who have your gift's private link can see it.
• You can delete your gift with one tap from My gifts.
• Photos and voice notes are automatically deleted 30 days after a gift expires.

What we collect, and why

If you make a gift:

• Your name and the recipient's name, to put on the gift.
• The photos, words and optional voice note you add, and what you tell us about the occasion, to build the gift. Photo details like the date taken may be read to put photos in order.
• Your mobile number, to send you a login code, let you come back to your gifts and tell you about your gift (for example when it's opened or refunded).
• Payment records from Razorpay (an order ID, payment ID, amount and status), to confirm payment and send refunds. We never see or store your UPI PIN, card number or bank login.
• Your confirmation that you are 18 or older, for love and anniversary templates.

If you receive a gift: we record only that the gift was opened and when it was first opened, so the sender knows it arrived and so our money-back promise works. We don't ask you to log in, and we don't store your device, location or contacts.

If you report a gift: we keep the reason and any note you write so a person can review it.

Cookies: we use only the cookies needed for the service to work (keeping your draft and keeping you logged in). We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

The AI helper

When you ask for suggested words, the details you've written (names, the occasion, memories) are sent to Anthropic's AI model to draft text. If you record a voice note, it is sent to Sarvam AI to turn it into text. Neither is allowed to use your content to train their models, and neither do we. You can edit every suggested word before you pay.

Who processes your data for us

We use these companies to run the service. They act only on our instructions and only for the purpose shown. Some of them may process data outside India.

• Vercel: Hosts the website and gift pages.
• Neon: Database that stores gift details, names and payment records.
• Cloudflare R2: Stores the photos and voice notes you upload.
• Anthropic: AI model that drafts suggested words from what you write. It does not train on your content.
• Sarvam AI: Turns your voice note into text, if you record one.
• Razorpay: Processes your payment and refunds.
• MSG91: Sends the login code and gift updates to your phone by SMS.

We do not sell or share your personal data with anyone else, except where Indian law requires it.

How long we keep it

• A paid gift stays live for 12 months from payment, unless you delete it earlier.
• Photos and voice notes are automatically deleted 30 days after the gift expires.
• When you delete a gift, its link stops working straight away and its photos and voice note are deleted.
• Payment and refund records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires, even after a gift is deleted.

Reports and safety

Anyone who opens a gift can report it. Every report is reviewed by a person on our team, not only by a computer. To review a report, that person may look at the reported gift.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

• ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• ask us to correct or complete it;
• ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent (you can delete a gift yourself from My gifts);
• nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
• complain to our grievance officer, and if you're not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, message us on WhatsApp or email help@example.com. We may ask you to confirm the phone number you used, so we only act on your own data.

Children

Lamhe is for adults to make gifts. Love and anniversary templates require the sender to confirm they are 18 or older. Please don't upload photos of children unless you are their parent or have their parent's permission.
